Jennifer Kieltyka (Owner)
Jennifer began practicing yoga along with her massage therapy and cranio-sacral work in 1996. After studying yoga for a short time, Jennifer traveled to India to explore Yoga in the motherland. Studying and living in the Vivekenanda ashram gave her the essence of yoga that deepened her yoga and meditation practice.
Jennifer then completed an Ashtanga 200 Hour teaching program with Richard Freeman in Boulder, CO. The combination of yoga and body work was enriching to her life as a whole, and she soon wanted to share these with others. Jennifer began teaching yoga in 2000 while living in the Los Angeles area. After moving back to Kansas City, she wanted to create a space for a like-minded community to gather, reaping all the benefits of alternative wellness. She soon married her husband Chris Powell, Licensed Acupuncturist, who is the perfect life and business partner to open up Boulevard Yoga & Healing Arts in 2007. Jennifer loves teaching all levels of yoga students. Her classes can be gentle yet strong, anatomically aligned yet energetically healing. She offers so much gratitude to all her teachers and students alike. Jennifer now shares her knowledge and experiences in her own 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training program. The greatest gift yoga has brought to Jennifer is the ability to find love and kindness in all things, the ability to be present through grief and healing, and knowing when it’s time to rest and time to strive. Most importantly yoga gives her the balance in marriage, motherhood, work, and relationship to God.
Tonya began her yoga practice in Kansas City in the early 90's. Her journey led her to become a certified yoga instructor through the Boulevard Yoga 200 hour program. She focuses her classes around learning to heal from within. Her teachings come from her heart, and her classes are led from a place of love and compassion. She teaches a gentle practice that can take you deep within and you will find yourself feeling centered and grounded. Her class is great for students new to yoga or advanced. Tonya is also a loving mother and practicing esthetician.
Sally Ellis Delozier
Sally is originally from Chicago, IL, and attended Stephens College in Columbia, MO where she received a bachelor's degree in Fine Arts in Dance. After graduating, she performed in Los Angeles in various music videos and dance productions. She began teaching jazz dance in Kansas City in 1986. She has taught at the State Ballet of Missouri, the Ibsen Dance Center, the Westport Ballet, and City in Motion Dance Theater. Sally began studying yoga locally with Arielle Thomas Newman, Patricia Gray, and Kathleen Kastner, and continues to further her studies with nationally regarded teachers including Max Strom and Shiva Rea. She has studied extensively with Erich Schiffmann is Los Angeles, and was selected to be his assistant in a 60-hour teacher training. Workshops with Judith Lasater have also influenced her teaching style. Sally teaches Hatha yoga, with an emphasis on Vinyasa style. Her goal as a teacher is to help her students create balance between the inner and outer worlds through the physical practice of asana, breath, and meditation. She also incorporates restorative yoga into her classes to promote healing and a sense of peace. Sally received her 200-hour Yoga Alliance certification through Christy Burnette, E-RYT.
Margaret Estrin Drinkwine
Margaretis a graduate of the Boulevard Yoga Teacher Training program and a medical doctor. She teachers yoga with a strong anatomic influence and enjoys helping students address specific personal challenges. Margaret also received training and certification to teach Restorative Yoga under Judith Hanson Lasater and is a certified prenatal yoga instructor through Pranakriya. Her classes also emphasize the importance of breathing and meditation to achieve relaxation and your best expression of the pose.
In 2000 Rhonda began experiencing severe muscle spasms in her lower back. Avoiding a medication with side effects as uncomfortable as the back spasms, she searched for a permanent solution to strengthen her back and core muscles to naturally ease the pain. This quest led her to yoga, a path that has changed her life. Rhonda received a 200 hour certification to teach yoga in 2013 and an additional certification in restorative yoga techniques in 2014. Through workshops she has studied with some of the most respected yoga instructors in the field including Judith Hanson Lasater, Ray Long, Seane Corn and Aadil Palkivala. Through her instruction, Rhonda seeks to bring others to their own sense of how yoga can benefit their lives; whether it’s a simple breathing technique for stress or a dedicated routine to a vinyasa practice, it is all about the goals, needs and physical abilities of the student. Rhonda teaches with compassion and understanding to make sure students are comfortable in any environment, at any skill level.
Amber began practicing yoga during the winter as a way to stay healthy when it was too cold to run outside. Something about it spoke to her, so she continued to seek instruction and practice. In 2013, she completed her 200-hr training with Jennifer Kieltyka. Amber has studied the yoga sutras with Rama Jyoti Vernon, and taken workshops with Bhavani Maki, Ray Long, Ricky Tran, David Williams, and others. She believes yoga is a powerful process of compressed evolution, consistently refining one’s thoughts and habits through the practice of physical poses and conscious breathwork. Yoga gives her a deeper sense of connection, peace of mind, and wisdom. Amber teaches in the vinyasa style, holding poses a little longer. She encourages her students to focus on the present moment and to patiently listen to his or her own inner voice. She is grateful to her teachers Jennifer Kieltyka and Patricia Gray for illuminating the yogic path.
Amy began practicing yoga in 2006 and was hooked after her first class. She started teaching classes under the guidance of her mentor in 2010. In July of 2015 she completed her 200 hour certification at Boulevard Yoga through Jennifer Kieltyka. She enjoys all types of yoga from hatha to vinyasa and ashtanga. Amy truly believes in the healing power of yoga and loves to teach while continuing to grow and learn in her practice.
